Trading is usually done with banks, or other financial institutions, acting as dealers, rather than with banks or other financial institutions acting as investor.

 

In a Swap transaction, the bank makes an assignment purchase from an investor in a specific deal and sells an assignment of another deal to the same investor. The buy and sell are linked together and should close on the same day.
